What is Cooper Life Fund?

Cooper Life Fund is a nonprofit organization created to help children & families of children born with serious medical conditions. John and Ashley Fontenot founded the organization after their son Cooper Fontenot was born in November of 2004 with a Congenital Heart Defect. Cooper spent many weeks in the hospital and when he was only 9- days old endured several hours of open-heart surgery. He is alive and well today because of great medical care and because of intensive cardiovascular research.

Who Benefits?

All proceeds from this event provides families with car seats, strollers, lodging vouchers, gas cards, gift cards and other items while their newborn baby was unexpectedly admitted into intensive care at Terrebonne General Medical Center - NICU. Please visit their website at

Creating an Account Versus Registering as a Guest

With our updated registration system you have the ability to create an account with the provider, Ngin, or register as a guest.  We highly suggest creating an account as it will make it easier to register for this event in the future as well as other events that are on the Ngin platform.  It is free to create an account and you will not receive any unsolicited e-mails (just uncheck the box under Contact Preferences) and your information will not be sold or distributed.  If you choose to create an account, your basic information will be pre-populated next time you go through an Ngin registration session allowing you to register quicker and easier.  You will also have the ability to login to your account and track your registrations.

Regardless of whether or not you create an account, we hope you find the new system easy to use, appreciate your support of the Cooper Life Fund, and look forward to seeing you on race day!
